1.5% is to be added to core inflation over the course of the March and June quarter. This is an important change as monetary policy is heavily influenced by rising inflation. As a counter to this, the stubbornly high Australian dollar is a concern for the RBA. Getting a balance between these 2 conflicting economic forces is a major challenge in the coming 12 months.
